N.C. Man Guilty of Bigamy in Putnam County
On Monday a man pleaded guilty to committing bigamy when he married one woman, while still being married to another woman.
Robert Norris Jr. was married to a woman since 1987, but did not divorce her before marrying a woman from Putnam named Christina Brown.
Brown stated that she had no idea Norris was still legally married when they got married, adding that he had "wined and dined" her.
Norris was indicated by a grand jury in July on bigamy charges in July. Prosecutors agreed to recommend probation since Norris pleaded guilty to the charges.
