Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz Announce Divorce
One of rock and roll's youngest couples announced their divorce this morning. Ashlee Simpson, the younger sister of pop singer Jessica Simpson, and Pete Wentz, a member of the rock band Fall Out Boy, were married in May of 2008. Their short marriage has now come to an end, as they have announced that they are
filing for divorce. TMZ reports that they do not have a
prenuptial agreement in place.
Ashlee Simpson is asking for joint legal custody of their son, Bronx, as well as child support and
spousal support. Though Simpson is arguably the more famous partner, it is believed that Wentz has a higher income due to publishing rights. They are citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.
