Christina Aguilera Files for Divorce from Husband
Pop singer Christina Aguilera has announced that she has filed for divorce from her husband of 5 years, Jordan Bratman. Aguilera cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for divorce, although many rumors are swirling that she was having extramarital affairs.
They have a two year old son, Max, and reportedly have been sharing custody of him since they split up. They are planning on seeking joint physical and legal custody once the divorce is official.
Aguilera has a higher net worth than Bratman, who is a music executive. They have a prenuptial agreement in which all of Aguilera's earnings prior to, during, and after the marriage are to be considered her sole property. She has also asked not to pay spousal support.
Aguilera released an album this year, "Bionic," to disappointing reviews. She is also starring in her debut film, "Burlesque," which is due out later this year.
