Missing 7 Year Old Twins Returned Home
Alyssa Ann Allen and Alex James Allen, two 7 year old twins, were missing for over a week after a visit with their father, Alvin Allen.
The kids' grandmother, Judy Boggs, currently has temporary child custody. When their father did not return them after a visit, Boggs alerted the police. The Erwin police were searching for the father and the children for around a week before a Georgia state trooper saw Allen's car. He was pulled over and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and child neglect because he did not take the children's medications with him.
Alyssa and Alex have been returned to their grandmother, who was so stressed about their disappearance that she did not eat for several days. She and Allen have a child custody hearing next week, although it is unlikely that his road trip with the kids will work in his favor.
