Country-Pop Singer Shania Twain Is Engaged
Shania Twain, who has stayed out of the spotlight in the past few years but who is still known as a country-pop legend, has gotten engaged at the age of 45. Twain was previously married to her producer, Robert "Mutt" Lange, though they divorced in 2008 after 14 years of marriage. Lange was reportedly having an affair with a woman who was once Twain's best friend. The woman, Marie-Anne Thiebaud, is also the now ex-wife of Frederic Thiebaud, Shania's future husband. In North Carolina, alienation of affection is grounds for civil lawsuits.
It is reported that Twain and Thiebaud became close after discovering the affair between their respective spouses, who have denied that it occurred. What began as comfort turned into love, as they are now about to be wed. Thiebaud is not a celebrity, though he is a businessman. The difference in their careers and incomes may mean that they will sign a prenuptial agreement in case the relationship goes sour.
