Teresa Riggi, the 46 year old mother of 3 and wife of an oil industry executive, is being accused by Scottish police of the murder of her children.
The bodies of the children were found in a townhouse in Edinburgh following a gas explosion, although police do not believe that the explosion is the cause of the deaths. Riggi is in stable condition at a hospital after suffering serious injuries from falling from the second story of the house the same day as the explosion.
Teresa Riggi and her children were declared missing after she failed to appear at a custody hearing, and police were warned that it could be an emergency situation.
Pasquale Riggi, the father of the children and the estranged husband of Teresa Riggi, is devastated by the loss of his children. The couple were in the middle of a divorce and each vying for custody of their children.
The father is not a suspect, and it is unknown when Teresa Riggi will be able to appear in court, as she is still hospitalized. Pasquale is originally from Colorado and Teresa is originally from California. They have lived in Europe for more than a decade.
